    Hi

I am a new member that just made my first cuts with a lead 1010 cnc.
My problem is I have no 3d view (just displays gcode) and the "check size"
function does not work. I also receive no error messages.

I am running version v1.0.199 Control SW, on an Dell desktop
under windows 7. My graphics card is a GMA 3000. I suspect it might
might not support WebGL, however when I run the openbuilds
CAM software in FF I do get the 3d view to display.

I assume if the 3d view works in the CAM software it "should" work in the
Control sw. From my google searches it appears that GMA 3000
    should work with WebGL.

So if anyone has had a similiar problem with 3d view and/or "check size"
not working or know if there are any "error logs" I can view, I would
greatly appreciate it as I am unsure what to try n ext.

    Thanks

    Kevin

Try updating the drivers for the GMA 3000 card.

    Jeff,

I had windows check the video driver and it said it was up to date.
But I think I will search for the latest driver myself to be sure.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

CONTROL checks if it can launch a WebGL-context, if it cannot, it disabled the 3D viewer. Internally it runs on
Check Size depends on the 3D viewer to determine the actual size of the job (in a future version I'll have Check Size button be disabled too when WebGL is not working on a PC)

Sadly this is one of those cases where the hardware/drivers/OS just prevents proper WebGL from working (FF and Electron have different requirements). Just updating drivers might not even help, seems its a tad old (GMA3000 comes from 2006! 13 years ago)
I am all for repurposing old hardware, but at that age its going to stutter on serial, fail to load big files, and just generally frustrate you. Luckily we live in an age where 2-3 year old PCs can be had for free or very little on Craigslist so its not really worth mucking about with decades old PCs :)
Controlling a CNC is an intensive job, slow old hardware, just creates more problems

    Peter,

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will get a newer old computer or try a newer video card.

GPU on its own might create a false sense of success, if the whole PC is that old, its still going to stutter the serial stream, leading to buffer underruns.
