I'm new to the CNC carving. I have a 1010 and am getting really frustrated. I can design the piece I'm wanting to make. It's real simple. It's a coaster with an initial in the center. I think I calculated the toolpaths correctly but when I go to carve it, only the letter is produced. I guess I don't know how to save and run all the toolpaths. Any pointer or tips would be greatly appreciated. I've been at this simple project for over a week...

    What software are you using?

If its OB Cam, attach the workspace. If its something other like vcarve or fusion, attach those files.

This is the file. After I generate the gcode, only part of the "B" is carved. Thanks For any help. Jack

Unfortunately, we cant open the file since you created it with a trial version of vcarve.

Can you post of picture of the cut coaster and a screen shot from vcarve of what its suppose to look like? It might help us narrow down the issue.

I just registered VCarve. I'll pull it up and save it and then post it again.

In V carve you have to save multiple tool paths for the different endmills being used. You may have generated them, but inadvertently did not save one of them. This has happened to me a few times.

For instance, in this one I have 5 tool paths.

When you then save your tool paths, you need to check the boxes for all those you want saved. If you forgot one, it will not get saved to the file you send them to. For example, I did not check the 5th one on this project, so it did not make it up in the "saved" list. Only 1-4 made it.

Once you get the hang of Vcarve you will find it is very powerful and well worth the money. I absolutely love it.
