I have my Open Build machine up and running and am having a hard time wrapping my head around using the OB CAM Gcode generator. I can cam out and cut a simple profile but cant figure out how to pocket this part and profile outer with adding tabs on it. Material is .300 thick and I will use a 3 flute .125 end mill. Can someone help me CAM this out so I can cut them using OB Controller. See attached picture and SVG file

    Thanks in advance

The machine is calibrated and cutting to proper size. I just need to find a good work flow from my CAD to cutting.

    1) Select the parts that need pocketing and add them to a toolpath, of type: Pocket
    2) Select the outside, and add to another toolpath, of type Outside cut.
    3) On this toolpath, open Advanced settings and play with the Tab values (it needs long enough straight sections to accomodate the tabs in, fudging the numbers will help it find suitable sections)

Or alternatively, forget about tabs, use the Superglue and Bluetape method!

    It's awesome

I did what you wrote Peter and the tool path kept freezing up and I gave up after 45 mins.

    If it freezes up
    - too many points in your vector; use the Simplyfy tools in inkscape/illustrator to cleanup
    - Stepover or other value entered too small, leading to excessive computing
    - If its an advanced setup consider using Vectric Products - OpenBuilds Part Store

Will check your file later, having some internet issues on my end at the moment :) sorry

OBC workspace export attached (you can import the OBC file to CAM, and then edit/hide/show the operations to see what I did)
Not sure what should be pockets and what should be cuts etc, so probably I got it all wrong :) but just to help guide you how to do it:
Tab algorithm likes the short sides better with the 3mm tab width and min 10mm spacing I gave it.
