okay, totally realize this may be my cpu. Software, hardware, etc.

But in the middle of a 3 hour cut my connection to the black box stopped. So when it came on I had about a 6 inch shift in my Y. Could have been worse and had a collision. Zeroed in a completely different spot. LOL. I want to machine 2 sided parts so this won’t work.

What can I do to provide a solid and reliable connection to the black box? Using an old desktop from my work right now. I’ve actually had to move to a different USB port to get a connection,,,,if this helps. So I don’t think the connection is “great” to start with.

Total side note, no IT background. Just a manager, but I get “my phone won’t charge or download pics on my computer inquires” all the time

I’ve had some USB ports fail too. But dropping connection just won’t work. Is there a hardware solution?? No issues with a monitor or data port, other ways to “hard wire” a black box in??

    Thanks

Gentlemen. Thanks I’ll give it a go

Alex, found your feeds and speeds spreadsheet. That’s been a huge help. It’s spot on for what I’ve cut.

So I’m still dropping during running.

To date I plugged the Cord into the back of CPU. I did disable the usb from shutting down. I am not using my shop vac.

CPU is located under the table. I’m thinking I try an air cut without the router on??

What are other folks experience or setups. Dropping during a cut is a pretty big killer for my build.

It does seem to be dropping in a similar place in the cut. About 20 minutes in.....

    I’ll try an air cut

Well. Hold the phone. Diligently watched my air cut. I’m actually racking my gantry. Then it starts to loose steps on my Y.

I’ll start searching for solutions for that. Lol.

Start by checking the connections on the stepper wires...

So, up a seeming to be running just fine. Kind of a hard first test, cutting some garolite.

So what was wrong.......machine was not completely square. But big problem appears I had multiple loose wheels. They were tight. But have been running It a bunch. Guess they loosened up. Lost adjustments

But so far so good! Thanks for all the help!!
