    Hi.
can anyone give me the length of the Jog Knob SKU 2040-Set? I need to order 8mm leadscrew and want to make I've taken it into account. Oh, also the 8mm shim...is it need also? It is for a linear actuator which is my Z axis on my printer.
    Thanks so much,
    Jim

Checkout OpenBuilds Jog Knob | 3D Warehouse for the 3D model. You can extract any dimensions you need from Sketchup using the measuring tape tool

I measured it at 24mm, if you do not have easy access to SKetchup.

Hi Giaric, thanks so much. To confirm, the jog knob is 24 mm in length. My sketchup and Fusion360 are both out of commission at this time.
    Cheers

That is what I got when measuring the length of the threaded hole in the middle. There is a chance it may be off by a millimeter or so if there is a fillet around each end of the hole. It was hard to tell since it was a black object.

    1) Make it more "viewable"
View > Face Style > Monochrome to hide the textures
(and view > face style > xray helps too if you want to snap guides/measurements off any internal features)

    2) Set Camera to Parallel projection: Camera > Parallel Projection

    3) Snap guides to aid measuring. - in the example below I snapped to the "faces" on those sides - then measure the distance between the guides - more accurate than measuring to a fillet edge for example.
Should be 25mm exactly. Add an extra 1-2mm so you don't run the face against the End plate/bearing race/etc
