That was my thought. I have a new one on order and I have a friend that owns a 2 way radio shop so I'll check with him to see if he has one I can borrow until my new one comes in. More later. Thanks!

So I found a meanwell power supply locally but it puts out 27 volts. Would that be within the capabilities of the black box controller to handle?

SUCCESS! I was able to finally run a gcode file and it came out mostly correct. Only thing I am seeing now is weird stairstep lines down the sides of each letter using a v bit. I am of the opinion that, from what I can see, the 1/2" 60 degree vbit from Freud may not be a good choice for this. I've not seen anyone else using that type of bit. However, this is all issues for a different thread, since the original problem is RESOLVED!!! A resounding THANK YOU to all who were willing to assist!

    Great!
    Stairsteps point to 2 things
1 - the bit is not exactly 60 degrees, or your software has not accounted for the size of the flat spot on the end.
2 - tram, ie the Z axis is not square in both directions to X and Y

i don't think it's the tram on the z axis. it's pretty much identical down both sides of each letter. i would think if tram was the issue it would be on one side and not the other. also, the way my z axis is built, i don't think i have any adjustment for that. if i need to have, then i may be out of luck. i'm trying it with a different bit tonight, as the bit i was using had a rounded tip, although it's not supposed to that i can find, so i'm guessing i got a damaged bit. note to self, check the tip of v bits before purchasing to make sure someone hasn't mishandled them in the store!

Great video to figure out your V bits true angle.
