    Hello,
Im completely new to cnc's but I saw a few cnc woodcraft videos and I started building a custom cnc but now I'm dead in the water. Im using the Blackbox controller and Control software which has let me move the x,x, and z but I can't control the spindle from the g code sender or vector. I purchased a spindle and vfd combo off Amazon but I don't know enough about electronic wiring or adjusting the software codes and settings. I do have power to the vfd and spindle enough to manually operate it but I don't know how to wire it to the controller.
Are there videos or posts on how to wire up cnc electronics and adjusting whatever settings I need to? I've spent alot of time and money and I need to make this start to work for me. I need to learn what I don't know. Thank you in advance for your time and comments.

You can absolutely run manually if that's fine with you. Just a matter of convenience :)

One nice thing about manual control is you can easily change speeds during a cut. This may be helpful when you are first trying to figure out the correct feed rate and spindle speed. I have been using my CNC for years and I have always used manual. It came in handy recently when cutting a really old piece of oak salvaged from a piece of furniture. The grain was so dense that I had to quickly up the spindle speed because I could hear it struggling.

They don't make oak like that anymore.;)

OpenBuildsCONTROL has a tool speed override slider too, if you do connect the VFD, you still have RPM override available mid-job for dialing in speeds and feeds:

Thanks I'll try that so I'm not overwhelmed.

I am so used to just starting it up and observing for a minute and making any manual adjustments on the router I forgot about that option.
