I have purchased the 800 W 110 V spindle. It weighs approximately 7 pounds is there any upgrade that needs to be done to the Z axis?
If its the 65mm body air cooled, no upgrade needed. Wiring the spindle via a Swing Arm helps a lot to seperate the noisy VFD wiring away from low voltage cabling to prevent EMI

I have the spindle attached and is working ok but there is a bit of flexing. What kind of upgrade can be done to improve strength
What are you typically using for bit size, feedrate, spindle/router speed and depth of cut? If you push the machine too hard then you will get some flex on the X axis, especially with a 1500 long C-beam. Alex.
Those are perfectly reasonable settings. Is it the C-beam that is deflecting or the router/spindle? Two router mounts will help the rigidity - spaced as far apart as possible. Alex.
