    Hi Peeps

I’m using aspire 9.5 to generate my GCode files for my workbee. I’ve just changed from a direct drive cheap spindle to a 1.5kw air spindle and vfd.

now although aspire will export my spindle speeds to the vfd, it takes 30 seconds for it to reach working speed. Is there a way I can edit the post process in aspire so it will hold the spindle until it gets to speed or for the spindle to wait at the start position foe a set amount of time before starting a job.

just to let you know I have never edited a pp file so I will need pointing in the right direction.

    thanks

No peter is right, it is actually seconds and not milliseconds. I have been told on a Facebook group though that other people’s spindles only take 5seconds to reach full speed, they say check the speed ramp parameters but I’ve no idea what I’m looking for. I’ve attached the VFD’s instructions if anyone can help

I also have another question. In aspire I’ve set my rpm to 1800 but it maxes the vfd to 400hrz which should be 24000 for this spindle. I’ve tested the spindle and Me S9000 gives me 300hrz, any ideas on this?

    Did you set Grbls $30=24000?

Also, if its an aircooled spindle, note minimum RPMs below which it overheats from lack of airflow... Don't have the number, but 1800 sounds low

Did you get the Post processor to work. when I do it, it will pause but spindle wont spin up till next line comes in. I was using G4 P6 for a 6 second delay after the M3

Make sure you don't accidentally have Laser Mode enabled in Grbl Settings

That fixed the problem, laser was enabled. Thank you.
