Effect of lead screw/motor spring coupler on positioning accuracy

    I recently completed a Lead CNC 1010. I have found that depending on the direction of rotation. the stretch in the spring coupler between the motors and the lead screw can lead to more than 0.010 change in router position during various jobs. I am thinking of removing the spring couplers and replacing them with solid couplers. Anyone have experience with this?

    Only if you forgot to fit the Stop Collars - they perfectly constrain the leadscrew axially.
    Coupler just transfers rotational force (and should be quite accurate), and deals with any slight misalignment (not likely a major impact in the OpenBuild system, where things line up naturally) - it does not parttake in leadscrew constraint at all
