    I am almost finished setting up my CNC machine with the OB Blackbox controller and OB Control software.

    But in the meantime I wanted know what would be required to get a probe working as a 3D digitiser with my setup. Is this something the blackbox and control software is capable of doing?

    Thanks.

    Software: nothing like that built into ours at this time

    When googling for things like software, remember that the Blackbox runs grbl, so searching for "grbl probe digitising" might help you get some more results - due to Grbls popularity

    Grbl has a probe input, runs with G38.x commands. You'd need software that
    a) support Grbl
    b) uses G38 probe commands

    what you want is bCNC, it can not only probe the surface, but also save the mesh and/or use it to make 'flat' Gcode fit the surface;
