Double check - just in case it changed

Does the ToolOn/ToolOff buttons in CONTROL work? (To rule out GCODE being wrong)
If also not, I'd refer the issue to the laser module vendor - might just be a faulty module

The unit lights up at the start of the work and stops at the end. It fires on with the lightburn fire button and switches off when deselected.

Thank you for your help, It might sound naive, but I am not familiar with this, how can I check the Grbl settings?

OpenBuildsCONTROL > Connect to the controller (Close Lightburn) > Grbl Settings tab

You can use the Backup settings button if you want us to take a look, but Laser Mode ($32) is in the list

Good evening again, I checked the laser mode enabled in the GRBL settings. The openbuilds software updated automatically. Trying to check the laser the machine now is unable to home. Although the limit switches are enabled, the machine is correctly selected as workbee 1510 with default settings, the z axis is moving normally up to the limit switch and withdrawing, the X axis is reaching the limit switch and continue although the limit switch is operational. The homing is interrupted at this point.

Confirm it really is, from the Troubleshooting tab. If it was operational it would have worked. Use Troubleshooting tab to see a) that it works and b) is plugged into the correct axis

Does anyone know where I can download a blackbox 4x bin file? I attempted to update my firmware via the Openbuilds software and I received the message update filed now my BlackBox is bricked.

Wizards and tools > Firmware Flashing tool will flash it for you.
The BlackBox 4X runs standard Grbl, you can grab the hex from the grbl repo if you need it for something else

More importantly: do you perhaps know why the flash failed? Could not begin flashing? Do you maybe still have the log onscreen from the attempt? Its rather unlikely that the flashing tool can brick the BlackBox...

Why were you flashing if I may ask - as they are preflashed and Grbl has not had updates in a couple years? If it was to address a "firmware not found" issue for example? If so, did you refer to the link provided in the error message (flashing is not one of the recommended solutions)

Just in case anyone else has the same issue of attempting to update firmware (which was not needed) and receiving the error "update failed" and the black box failed to boot.

I solved my issue by using a different USB cable. Not sure why it worked but it worked.

    Hello!!
Can the Black Box x32 be used to replace the Shapeoko 3XXL control board?
