My machine was ran using bcnc from a raspberry pi 3. The micro sd card that was in the raspberry pi had corrupt file and the bcnc stopped loading correctly. I tried to reinstall the os and bcnc software on a new card and now I'm having issues getting my machine to come to life. Is there anyone that has had this issue, or have some ideas I could try?

    Thanks

    To resurrect your HobbyFab:
    1) remove the Pi
    2) run USB cable from the Azteeg board inside, to your PCs USB
    3) download OpenBuilds-CONTROL from software.openbuilds.com and connect to the Azteeg

Bypassing the pi, using a proper PC. Faster, easier, better

Should work. The Pi in there complicates things for users who are not linux fundis. Bypassing that, the rest is all still working after all.

Ok, I loaded bcnc on my hp computer and I bypassed the raspberry pi. It says not connected on the bcnc screen. It always you to jog and home cycle and that’s about it. The x,y, and z don’t show any position numbers. Those fields are blank.

    Thoughts?

Thought 1: order a BlackBox 4x :) - just works, up to date, etc
Thought 2: use software.openbuilds.com instead of bCNC (way easier for beginners)
Thought 3: either one of the required settings needed for bCNC (like $10) is not set or outdated version of Grbl

Yeah, that black box controller looks nice. Do you use it? Does it come with software? Or just plug in a computer with whatever software you want and away you go?

I did try the open build software, I didn’t like that there was only 4 increments to jog with. Maybe there is a way to change that. I think it was 10”, 1”, .1”, and .01”.

I will try to see if there is a update for the controller, and if no luck I might just break down and get the black box.

    I/we designed it (;

It runs Grbl so any Grbl application can be used. Cncjs, OpenBuilds-CONTROL, bCNC, UGS, Candle, and many more

Switch to Continuous and setup Keyboard from Wizards and tools. No need to click, just hold the arrow keys and let go when its near where you want to be. May want to switch back to incremental for final fine positioning, but again, tapping arrow on the keyboard takes no time

    Thats awesome!
So if I buy it, I have a Peter support line!
Would I need to buy the connectors for the black box?

Just trying to get a feel for everything I would need. Black box, power supply,...

there is a setting that you need to change in GRLB so that bCNC sees the changes.
    it is this one.

I can recall having to change mine but I cannot recall what i set it to to make it work (-: I will check later today and report back.
