ARO1510-Black Box-Optlasers configuration misbehaving

    Good morning all,
    Since a few days my ARCO1510 with Black Box and OptLasers configuration is misbehaving.
    Start up and homing are doing what they are supposed to do but when I start to jog around the laser comes on full force.
    I'm running Win 8.1 on a HP Envy, in the device manager I have an exclamation sign next to "Intel WiUSB" "USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller" code 31
    The configuration has been running nicely up untill a few days ago.
    Needless to say a laser with a mind of it's own is not really safe.

    Check that you have Laser Mode enabled? $32=1 - see gnea/grbl

    Paste your Grbl Settings

    Unlikely related to the laser issue, but do fix your Chipset drivers

    Thank you for the quick response.

    Attached you'll find the settings, they have been working flawlessly until a few days ago.

    I'll look into the Chipset drivers

    So I spent today updating drivers but that didn't help.
    In the end I hooked up a Raspberry 3 to the BlackBox and I have got it working but the laser starts lasing a few seconds after it is switched on.
    It doesn't respond to M5 S0.
    I have another BlackBox (CNC) that I will replace to see if I can locate the problem like that....

    Check your gcode G4 commands (delay)

    What CAM are you using?
    What Host are you using?

    Post a couple gcode files

    Thank you Peter for looking into it.

    It happens both with LaserGRBL and OpenBuild Control, some seconds after connection, so even before any gcode is loaded.
    That makes me think it's or the BlackBox or the laser itself, especially since it started only a few days ago and nothing was changed to the setup.

    Sorry I misread that as a delay between when you command it to turn on, and when it starts
    I understand now you mean it literally starts lasing all by itself?

    Reflash the Acro firmware, possibly LaserGrbl flashed its own weird flavour of Grbl. Wizards and Tools > Flashing Tool - select 2Axes for Acro

    How have you got it wired? (laser to blackbox)

    Also, if you disconnect signal (only apply power) to the laser, does it still start by itself?

    4 stranded cable, carrying signal and power (not ideal but I haven't changed anything in this config and it worked until last week)

    Yes, full automatic and dangerous self start

    So that eliminates all but the laser - it shouldn't start with just power applied. Think we found your problem
