I'm pretty sure that 12-24 output will match the supply voltage. So, 12v in means 12v out.
The OB light ring is 24V so it gets wired to your power supply, not the BB.

You need to adjust your motors steps per mm. If you're using OpenBuilds Control, then use the calibration wizards in the Wizards and Tools menu....
