Getting a good 3d object out of your CNC is not that difficult, unless its a really complicate shape of course.

Im trying to refine the process im using to make this 3D objects and preparing for the next one which i hope its really funny.

I go in the video through the process of creating the profile, shape and STL in Fusion 360 and then go into Aspire to generate the necessary toolpaths for milling.

The only secret here is to create good registration points so when you flip your stock the other side matches perfectly. In this case i drilled 3 holes at specific distances from 0,0 ( which is centered ) and then i just match my router bit to them when i flip. Doing it like this will have a very minimal difference that does not affect the outcome. You can also drill all the way to the spoilboard and place some dowels to get maybe a better registration but dont think the variation will be much.

Attached you will find the STL file for the plate and the 4 toolpaths needed to complete the project.

If you need any help recreating any of the steps don't hesitate to ask. An of course if you have . Suggestions are also welcomed on making this process easier.

That turned out great. Not familiar with Aspire, but does it have a spiral toolpath? That might have reduced the tool marks. Looks great regardless.

Thanks. Not an expert on aspire either but it should have, definitely lots of room to improve
