So I wanted to see how well MDF would carve being that it is soft and stable perhaps leading to faster but better detail on some pieces.
My results with the carving turned out quite well but I should have either made this bigger or not as high.
As a result the skulls did not come out as well as I would have liked but I compensated with a little paint to bring out the highlights.
I tried to seal the MDF with an Acrylic Clear first but it just kept soaking in and would not seal properly.
I decided to use what I had on hand and used the Rust-Oleum. It sealed it in 3 coats. Not what I wanted to use but since this was only a test I didn’t want to use my Auto Air Products.
Lesson learned though. I will use a white sealer next time with a fast set time.
I used Acrylics and detail brushes to complete the project. It took a couple days but didn’t turn out tool bad.
I ended up giving it to a business that had done some work on my bike a while back for free and the owner cried. I said I did it out of appreciation nothing more.

    Enjoy,

Looks to me like a Great Wall hanger, very well done and the hand painted aspect looks great!
I know I am my own worst critic, I have thrown things out after spinning them for 6-7 hours only to have a neighbor ask me what I had been working so I showed them and they loved it, now I ask someone else’s opinion before I throw them out when I’m not happy about things. Great project!!!

Excellent 3D carve and Excellent paint job, well done and a nice touch to pass it onto your bike shop, as a ex Harley owner over here in Spain I know that means a lot to the Harley boys and girls, its a great family to belong to Injury sadly forced me on to a Quad now, still enjoyable but not quite the same...

This was a tough one to do. I buggered up at the beginning of the finish so I had to improvise. Lesson learned.
