I almost just bought one for 6 dollars on Amazon with one-day free shipping, but where's the fun in that? Sooo lets take all day to make one Water Cooling Flow Meter from scratch lol.

I just finished building a new CO2 laser using an Openbuilds Acro Laser platform as the base. I reinforced and built up the Acro so it could hold a CO2 laser tube.

After running it a couple times, I really couldn't tell if the water cooling for the CO2 tube was actually flowing or not. I read somewhere that it doesn't take long to melt your tube if the water stops flowing. It was at this point I could hear the LEAD CNC behind me saying "Pick me! Pick me! I can cut acrylic" I gleefully drafted up the model in Fusion 360 and fed to the LEAD machine! Model files attached to this project if you'd like. Please check out the video, hope you enjoy!

That's really cool. Do you have any good links for tips on cutting acrylic with the LEAD CNC? Also i saw you heating the acrylic after slightly to make it clear again? was thinking of trying to cuts some acrylic display bases but wasn't sure how to do it with cracking the acrylic. is there a type that is good for cutting/drilling? thx in advance.

I thought that I was the only one machines talk to! LOL  Awesome project Jake. I wanted to ask you about sealing the plate for leaks. Did the CA wicked between do the job alone or did you need to add silicone around the outside? Thank you for sharing

Thanks for the info Jacob That's are really nice way to sandwich acrylic together quickly and has me thinking of other cool ideas where stacked acrylic could be used for a project. Thanks again for the share

Great project! I am curious, does weld-on solvent weld PLA as well? I currently use Tap Plastics Acrylic Cement for both PLA and Acrylic, but Weld-on looks like it may set faster and I am always in the mood to try something newer and better.

To glue acrylic to acrylic I use pure acetone. You can pick it up in almost all stares that sell to hair and nail boutiques. Clamp the parts together and with a syringe, run a little acetone along the joint. It will seep in and welds very well.
