  • Machine Type:
    3D Printer
    Software:
    CAD - Fusion 360/Cura
    Machine Time:
3 hours (approximately), but I used a raft to ensure adhesion.

    Your printer may vary
    Materials:
Inland Red PETG which actually turns out magenta which is why I am using it up making cookie cutters :)
This is my contribution to the holiday season. If the show South Park offends you, I apologize and recommend you proceed no farther. For further information, search Youtube or Google for Mr. Hankey.

This was originally done as a joke, but it seems they have become quite popular amongst friends and family so I thought I would share.

The file makes a cookie about 8 inches (200 mm) long by about 2-2.5 inches wide. It is for cutting dough that is rolled to a maximum thickness of 1/4 inch (6.35mm). Brown food coloring was added to the dough to give it a "natural-ish" look.

To start, I created a drawing in Inkscape:

I exported it as an .svg and opened it in Fusion 360. I drew another outer perimeter to make the cutting wall. Then I extruded various parts to different heights do put detail into the cookie dough so frosting the eyes and other details would be easier. Here are his dimensions.

I printed it out lying top down with what was supposed to be red inland PETG, but prints as a magenta color. I used 50% infill and some of the other settings are visible below. I get good results at 245 degrees C for printing PETG on a 60 degree bed.

I made a smaller version and removed a bit of detail that was unnecessary and causing the dough to stick in the cutter sometimes. I noticed a problem in the corners of the elbows where a "triangle" shape poked down into the dough to give the definition of the arm. The dough would get caught in there. Since my intention was to frost them with the details, I snipped this out with a cutter. The smaller version does not have this "triangle." Also, those first cookies were huge, so this version is smaller 1.5 in x 5 inch (40mm x 126mm). This file has been uploaded.
