If you ever wanted to draw some of your old line art and/or doodles, this is the perfect tool for it. Simply attach it to your Openbuilds machine after homing it, load your program, zero it out, and watch it draw your project on virtually anything that will hold pencil, marker, etc. Personally I use the trace option in fusion 360 and set the depth to .4 mm when working with it, and, it works great. Plus, you could use any file you want, to draw whatever it is you want. With a 40mm center to center hole mount, it will fit all of Opnebuilds CNC machines. And, most other Extruded aluminum CNC machines. I've been selling it on Etsy and using it myself for over a month or so now. And, it is still in perfect shape. Made from 3d printed PLA and incorporated with a MGN12 Linear rail this thing has excellent stability. And, with the stainless steel nuts and bolts, it is bound to last a very long time. If I don't crash it obviously, lol. I would love to hear any comments, or, ideas on how to make it even better.

Very nice design. I was thinking of updating my current pen holder to something much better.

Very Nice. I wonder if you were to have it spring loaded so that there would always be constant pressure and if by chance you moved your z axis you would not damage anything.

I designed a similar concept to use a spring-loaded marker or pencil that way your downforce is consistent. I use June Gold 2.8 mm Deep Reach Mechanical Pencil, 36 Colored Refills, 6 Colors, 40 mm reach, 6 mm width, Built-in Sharpener from amazon for 15$. if I want to check a pattern, I use a low-cost gun site from Walmart in place of the pencil. I love this holder you have designed I would love to see you add the spring.
