Hi John, sorry I haven't responded until now. I just haven't been here to check. So how did your build go. And what did you eventually do , to make a working CNC to make guitars .
      Best wishes and thanks

Hi John, hope your well I used to live in Stratford upon Avon but living in Perth Australia now. I was wondering how your CNC build went to build guitars . And really wanted more info about what you used im in the beginnings of the OX build to also build guitar necks bodies etc.
      Thanks and best wishes

        Hi Kimball
The build went well, the supplier was not the best and we found we had to alter some parts, the issues like the Spindle holder which was woefully inadequate and the belts, we have gt2 belts and I very little faith in them we have experienced belt slip, we have gone for the belt clips after I put a screw through the belt in effort to get it to grip!.

I have done some sign work and 3d work, this Saturday we hope to cut our first body, but we have an issue with Z height, not getting the clearance for the bit to enable cutting half way through the blank, I may have to make new end plates and raise the sides by 20mm or more again a major alteration, the bed is as low as it can go so a real problem.

I think the concept of Openbuilds is good but much heavier belt or chain is required, x span needs beefing up, we do get some flex here not a problem yet but it means we can't push the cut depth.
I will let you know how we get on.
        Regards

        John
