I've tested Nema 23 CNC stepper motor from STEPPERONLINE. This stepper motor performs very well for my application and exceeded my expectations. I'm using these in a milling cnc I'm building to drive the axis ball screws and have been able to achieve speeds in excess of 2200rpm which with a 5mm pitch screw, translates into 11,000mm/min or over 400IPM. Mass moved during these tests was 60lbs. Granted the torque at this speed is next to nothing for the given voltage but at least is an indicator of where the limitations are.

    Hi!
I have a problem with machine, I completed the assembly but when I want to use the machine, the machine have problem.
I have tried to machine a simple circle but it is deformed, I think that the axes have some blur but I don't know how to know what the real problem is.
    Can anybody help me?

You may have a loose screw on your pulley. Or you may need to calibrate your x, y, and z axis. If it is a belted system, use Steps per millimeter - belt driven systems to figure out what your steps/mm should be. Then do this:

Or if using the Openbuilds software, there is instructions on how to calibrate.

Double check that all the wheels are appropriately tight against the rails. If you can spin them with a finger the opposite eccentric will need to be adjusted.

Are those plate designs available? Or just the plates? I've been working on a design to attach a c-beam z to my OX but it a tried and true version already exists...

BTW if you have a standard OX with 2060 gantry v-slots this wont work!

    Cheers

Sooo... What's the best way to add a homing switch to the z-axis? (Stock, not upgraded yet.)

Dumb question, i've been following this build for a while but I noticed a lot of builders are using this for wood, can I use this for acrylic also?. I am getting deeper into custom PCs and want to have my own CNC since I PCSed to Korea.

Not a dumb question at all. Actually the Ox is ideal for acrylic as the belts allow for faster cutter head movement than screws. Acrylic cuts best with a low spindle speed and fast cutter head movement as this generates less heat at the cutter head, promoting better cutting and less melting of the plastic.

hi I’m new here a friend provided me this site, I’m looking to build a fiber laser or one that can do stippling on polymer and engraving on aluminum and steel. If you have any suggested or links it would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks,

NO, the motors came with the machine when I bought it.

Ha comenzado a hacer ruido cuando configuré los pasos del motor.

I also have a problem with the blackbox. It worked well and I stopped it for an hour. When I have reconnected it does not connect the motors. The engine connection light does not come on.

OK, but do follow the link, it explains how to also test your wiring

Fix faulty wiring first, usually incorrect wiring (particularly limits) causes this issue

Always check wiring before powering on - it can cause damage if done incorrectly

Also refer to docs:blackbox:faq-usb-connection-failed [OpenBuilds Documentation]

Using OX CNC from last one year and I loved it so much. It completely stand on my requirement and needs. At first i am not thinking to buy it as i hear some bad reviews about it but my thoughts are changed after reading this article related OX CNC review . The OX CNC machine can easily be set up by you alone and you can assemble as per your own purposes. It can be built for small scale purposes and cut through boards measuring up to 1' x 1.5' small. You can also use the CNC machine with a larger frame to cut through larger boards measuring 2' x 4' .
The main thing about this machine is that :- This machine can be made to cut any size of wooden planks and boards. The design is very simple and consists of many upgrades over the normal CNC machines available. The upgraded design is meant to make your work easier, faster, and smoother. This specs of this CNC machine helps in gaining audience attraction.

I am pretty happy with my CNC machine.

Depends on the location and the plate thickness. In the areas where you're bolting through a plate into a T-nut that is in the channel in the V-slot as long as the plate is 4mm thick you'll be fine. The depth of the slot is only 6mm so if your plate is any thinner than 4mm you'll need to add a washer under the head of the screw or you'll bottom out in the channel.

As for the 15mm screws it has been so long since I looked as the design I no longer remember where they go. But if its an issue you should be able to file the end slightly on a 16mm.

If the 15 mm are used to bolt plates to the ends of extrusion beams, they should work fine.

    HI everyone, Happy new year....
I am new here and doing due dilligence before embarking on a build for just doing flat panel routing and detailing work etc...
    So, I have a question!

Is there any reason why the OX cannot be wall mounted.
If it can, which is the best orientation?
    If it can't then fine.
If it can but needs an upgrade to make it gravity proof, what is that upgrade....
    Thanks in advance

Why not wall mount it on a hinged board and swing it down to use? I have seen other CNC’s mounted vertical ((New Vertical Oriented CNC Machine) but would assume there would be issues with gantry weight and needing more torque.

I'd get something sturdier or a maslow. At a minimum you'd want bigger motors.

has any one used the blackbox controller on their ox machine and if so is there a setting needed to get the machine to cut at the estimated time shown on the screen? The reason im asking is i just got a blckbox for christmas and it seems to run 2.5d model really slow. Job estimates 20 Min and the actually time is around 2 hours and 30 Min.
