My client sent me a 3d file from solid works but I can not seem to import it in the proper way for it to be correct. If someone has experience in this and are willing to help me over the phone if be happy to pay a consultation fee. Seeing this is a very time sensitive project. Shoot me a text and I'll call you right back. 972... 833.9603

Import into? You need some kind of CAM that supports your 3D file format, or you need to convert your 3D file to a format your CAM application can understand. See docs:software:overview [OpenBuilds Documentation]

I need to be much better at communicating, apologies.

I'm using vcarve pro 10. Importing a .stl 3d file.
I've watched lots of videos on importing files into vcarve but i am not getting the same results when I go to my file. Not sure if I need to ask for the file in a different way or change something on my end.

STL should be good. So what exactly is the problem with the results (screenshots explaining your troubles helps too)

The object has a dish shape to the top surface, I can get it to look correct in vcarve but it is going below my zplane by about .03. even when I set zero plane position to 0. I'm not sure what to set to get the top surface of my model to meetup with my material. The photo attached was my last attempt and it seems to be sitting on top of my zplane.

    If I understand you correctly:
    - Vectric sets the model on the bottom of the stock - so the bottoms line up. The top is determined by the stock thickness in Job Setup. If there is more stock that the model, its toolpaths will cut that away. If the stock is thinner than the model, it will not machine those areas that protrude above the stock
