I'm planning to replace my little generic 3018 CNC with a larger DIY. All the machines I have seen place the
spindle motor in front of the supports, which places all the weight there, which my engineering background
says is a bad idea. cnc mount007.jpg cnc mount007.jpg cnc mount007.jpg We plan to support the motor per the enclosed drawing. Any comments appreciated.

The concern isn't and has never been weight. The concern is loading. I understand the whole balancing thing, but in a realistic scenario, if your machine flexes as a result of spindle placement, nothing you do will fix the issue.
