Z axes hits soft limit

    When I start job after setting XYZ I press send the Z axes moves and triggers the limit switch, need help thanks

    you title says soft limit, your text says hits limit switch. which is it?
    what is generating your Gcode? are the clearance heights correct?
    how much space have you got between the work and the top of Z?

    Sorry about that it is the limit switch . I am using vcarve pro 10 materiel height 1.5 ,Z gap above materiel is .25 , machine is OB 1510 Workbee

    If I use my touch probe in mm and post processor in inch would that cause my trouble

    I don't know the answer to that, but you could always try the grbl (mm) (*.g-code) post processor - no need to change your design - the post processor should correctly convert your design in inches into mm in g-code.

    if you only have 0.25 fo Z movement above the work then you have to be very careful in the toolpaths to specify a safeheight (where non cutting movement will take place) that is less than 0.25.

    I have done a job where my free space was 2.4mm and safeheight had to be 2mm above the work.
