Hello all, I'm just wondering if it makes sense to earth ground the chassis of my workbee. I just tested with my multimeter, the aluminium extrusion are not conductive so does it make sense to wire it to the earth? What do you think?
Anodised Aluminum is not conductive on the anodised surface. Of course the plastic wheels also insulate Z from X and X from Y etc. Unless you have EMI problems it wont be worth wiring earth to each component
mine is not anodized, I also tried to scratch the surface and test conductivity but nothing. I was wondering to do it for safety reason, not for any EMI or anything else as it's usually good pratice to earth every electrical device that have a metal frame/chassis.
OpenBuilds extrusion are anodised. Clear or Black, but both are anodised. The anodisation increases hardness. Measure on a cut end.
