I'm currently working on some sets.
The best bet is to keep an eye out for when they are done.
I now only do them in batches because I'm so busy and don't like taking orders due to the pressure.
Some times it's a day or two or a week for kits.
I take my time to ensure people are happy with what they receive.

    Hi Jeff
After looking at some of the stuff you made with your 3D Printer, and I know as much about 3D printing as you do about CNC at the moment, I think you're going to be over the moon with a CNC of your own.
I reckon you will be making some cool stuff in the near future. It's definitely the way to go.
Almost like a Definitive set! If you have one, you need the other.

    THEY ARE SYNERGY!!

Print yourself a Wagon, and jump on! :D

    Cheers
    Gray

Indeed, the coined phrase: hog heaven, comes to mind.

The fact is, i have a design for a cnc machine i made with igus w rails, but i am unsure about the z axis, so i am looking at something already tested.

Since many parts of my 3D printer came from here, i was aware of the ox, but i was waiting to see if Mark would capitalize and start selling kits.

So here i am, on a waiting list :)

    Jeff

Nice work Robert ( don't forget to use screened / shielded cable for connecting the switches ;) )

Robert, I'm gonna follow your lead and build an OX AI... so at the moment I've got a couple of questions before I head out and have the plates knocked out at a local CNC shop. What thickness is the aluminum for the Belt End Clips? Do you have the drawings available for the Motor/Leadscrew assembly...and would that be out of 1/4" stock as well...

    Thanks in advance...

    So, the Y axis member consists of 1- 20x80 v-slot and 1-20x40 v-slot rail...If that's what I see in your photos....

No, to make the Y axis frame/rail
    2x20x80 for sides
Front and back are made with 2x20x40 each side
    In total
    2x20x80
    4x20x40

Things are crazy but kits are in the works

    Read above

I'm sorry for the hold up guys but life has thrown some bumps in the road.
Kits are in the works and my OX AI should speed things up as it's almost done ;)

The plates on the top right look like multicopter arms? Sorry. I'm drifting off topic :)

    Robert,

Is the content of the files you uploaded in the file section, up to date compared to what you are milling?

I'll print them and see how it goes. I definitively want alu plates, but in the mean time, I have to learn what I can about CNC, so I might as well start now... :p

    Thank you

    Jeff

    Hello Robert.

First let me congratulate you on the awesome work :)
I've been reading a lot builds lately, since I'm trying to build a CNC router myself, and this seems to be an excellent choice.
I do have some questions that maybe you could answer me, since I can't seem to find them anywhere.
What precision can you get with this type of build? I mean using the Belt and Pinion System rather than Lead Screw for example.
Other question is how do you get your raw material fixed to the work table? I've seen that you don't use tabs on the programming, and from the videos and photos I can't figure how you do it.
I'm extremely inclined to ordering, but I'm afraid I'll have problems with customs here in Portugal, since it's shipping from outside of Europe, and I'll probably have to pay a lot of additional taxes :(

    Best regards,
    Joao

If you were to order from the distributor in Portugal, you would not have to worry about the taxes.

    For other European distributors http://openbuildspartstore.com/openbuilds-distributors/

    Hello Rick.

I did check it out, actually I did check all the European stores.
The Portuguese one doesn't have more than half the material I need, but I'll try to check more thoroughly and see if I can get a complete list from all the European stores together :)
    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Joao

    Hi Robert.

Did you saw my question about accuracy and the work plate?

Accuracy has bin noted @ .002 with proper calibration and electronics.
My laser Fiber OX is dead on but the axis are not loaded like a router would be.
As for the plates I clamp the sheet, mill leaving -1/128 to hold the part then zero the mill and then run the final operation that cleans the plates edge

That's good news Robert for us folks waiting but I am not ready yet. But the detailed list will help me trim my project order list a couple bucks as I had included bearing and such.

I was expecting something along the lines of 0.02mm/0.05mm of accuracy, so that was really great news :)
    That solves my indecision :p

    Thanks Robert, much appreciated :)

One thing I've noticed with Ox plates is the distance to the rail of the Y axis motor mount compared to the X axes. It's a lot higher. Is there a mechanical reason for that?
