I'm using Estlcam to create NC code and controlling my Workbee 1050 with OpenBuilds Controller. The file in question is a series of 9 "donut" shaped parts I want to cut out with a drag knife. The Estlcam software preview shows nice smooth circles for the motion. When I load the same NC file into Openbuilds Controller and watch the preview it is showing each "circle" as three points on the curves forming a triangle?

Has anyone run into issues where the NC code from Estlcam does not open correctly in Openbuilds Controller? So far I have not had any issues. I'm using "engrave" in Estlcam to drive the drag knife right down the edge of the parts. Software is up to date for both versions.

    Hi Glen,
Attach your file if you can so we can try it.
    Cheers

Attached is the NC code from Estlcam. It looks like it is not forming circles at all even though the "simulation" shows the circular tool path?

I see nice circles, can you try running it with the z set above your work and see if it "air cuts" circles?

That's what I see as well, but when I run the "simulate" process the tool tip jumps to thee points on the circles rather than following the radius. I'll try an air cut and see what actually happens.

    Thanks

G2/3 Arcs might not always compute in the Simulator - its all cosmetic though, run the job it'll be fine

When you find things like these, do post the file (thanks for the one above) as finding examples that fail helps in testing to improve the code.

    Update on your file:

'Radiuses not equal. r1: 34.92504790504947 , r2: 34.92495969661239 with args: Object rounded vals r1: 34.93 , r2: 34.92' (Repeats for many other gcode lines with different values)

Estlcam computed something just a tad off from perfectly round...

Might be rounding errors - not sure

It was just the preview messing me up. Ran the code offset +5mm on Z and it looked good. I was able to cut some carbon prepreg with a drag knife attachment but I need to work on the depth of cut and the bed flatness for even clean cut results

Looks really good I would say! judging from the file name I would say that's for a bottom bracket of a CF bike project? would love to see more of it!
    Cheers
