I think I am being really dumb but cannot figure out where to find the cut lengths for the Acro Vslot - have ordered most of the other parts from the Openbuild store but was going to get the Vslot cut locally to save shipping - can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks
There's no real magic to the lengths, you can make them whatever you want. Or you can just go with stock lengths (500mm, 1000mm, 1500mm) like they do in the kits from the OpenBuilds Part Store. If you're wanting to go with something other than square have a look at the main build page and it'll give you a better idea of how the lengths match up. The main key is to be sure the cuts at the ends of the 20x40 members are perfectly square.
Thanks Rick - I think I am just seeing it as more complicated that it is! So I just need 20x40 x2 for x and 20x20 x2 + 20x40 x 1 for y in whatever dimensions as long as all the x and all the y are the same length? Looking at the build it looks like the 20x20 could be substituted for 20x40 without an issue?
You might be able to get away with it on the side rails on a 500x500 build but honestly I'm not sure if its even worth trying. The cost difference between 20x20 and 20x40 is not that significant and the two hole connections at the ends of the 20x40 add a fair amount of stiffness to the frame.
Sorry - meant the other way round - Build it all with 20x40 - in the diagrams the side rails are 20x20 but I was thinking of building with 20x40. Thanks
