Hi offtrolley I've had a very similiar experience to you wit OX build except it is A-axis burnt out have come up with a solution as yet ? with myself the A axis burnt out - It was slaved to the Y axis but I also noticed that the belt driving wheel had been almost forced of the shaft. Thoughts are 1. Motor is drawing too much current/ voltage 2. the motor is dudd 3. I've set up saving wrongly in Mach3 so A motor drawing too much 4. These cheap Chinese boards are Kack -

As correctly mentioned by Rick 2.0, the model name reflects the amp rating:

    Nema 17 - Rated Voltage 2.8 VDC Rated Current DC 1.68 A
    Nema 23 - Rated Voltage 2.3 VDC Rated Current DC 2.8 A

I have been offered a replacement TB6600 and a 24v power supply at reduced cost (I was initially supplied with 36v power supply)
Not sure which way to go now. Tempted to go for individual drivers and a better made controller, usb or parallel port.

I forgot to mention that the TB6600 worked perfectly, manually, before connecting it up to the computer.

Would love to see a full list of motors, drivers and controllers that people have used on the OX build to help me make up my mind.

    Last question on this matter.
What controls the amount of voltage each motor receives and is it ok to use both Nema 17 and Nema 23 motors on one power supply?

The output voltage of the power supply will determine the voltage applied and it will be the same voltage for all motors used. Yes it is OK to use NEMA 17 and 23's with the same power supply.
Each motor controller must be set to the correct current setting (or less) for the motor it is driving.

    Thanks Tweakie
So I've finally decided to go for individual drivers and a breakout board.
    Now to track some down.
