nop just select the proper card in the arduino software, use the grbl panel to enter all the machine parameters gerritv/Grbl-Panel

The problem is that I'm powering the xpro with an atx power supply so I I'm not sure how wiring that could work... I've already wasted over $800 on this thing so I should have just bought a pre-built laser engraver =/

So I just put together my ACRO 40x20.

I have a whole extra 4" double extruded aluminum beam, that I don't know what to do with. It's not in the build video. It has a 9.5" piece of rubber slot strip in it. Does anyone know what that's for?

I also have a fair amount of screws and a little bag of angle brackets left.

Hello, I've assembled my ACRO and it is awesome, I have the laser powered up with a power supply and my PWM PIN attached to the cancelled shield. I have not been able to get grbl to turn on the laser. I've used the commands to turn the laser on m3, just to try. I have been looking at all the wiring diagrams but I think im missing something.

Does anyone run a 3.5w 3 wire chinese diode that can help me hook this up properly? I am using an Arduino uno with a v3 cnc shield in laser mode. And help would be appreciated.

I've seen a bunch of projects posted on openbuilds where people are routing out the brackets for the ACRO system, but I can't find where/if the DXF files are provided anywhere. I would like to build an ACRO, but I thought since I already have a CNC I could save some money cutting the brackets myself and then just buy the hardware from openbuilds. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Estlcam will also open dxf files. It can then make the gcode for grbl which can be used with any grbls sender such as grbl panel. I just use Estlcam for both cam geberation and controlling my cnc router now.

while those settings look great. I am wondering if someone is actually able to run the acro safely at 1000mm per sec.

So you are asking if it will safely run 6 times the recommended max rate, correct?

I was just asking what the normal max speed was. So I guess its around 200. That answers my question

hello - can you post a diagram or simple explanation to how you have the bulbs set up? I'd like to do this too.

So I've read 1000 different safety manuals and they all agree that you shouldn't look at the dot your engraver makes, even with safety goggles on. I'm trying to focus my laser diode and can't figure out how to do that, or monitor the engraving - except by setting up a video feed (which I'm looking into.)

Is it true that you can't look at a laser's dot even with googles?

I have a pair of $60 OD6 goggles. thinking about returning them in exchange for a raspberry Pi video feed.
