That sounds great yarnairb! I don't have any experience with the Stepcraft machines but i've looked them over in the past and they look to be fun, versatile machines! Do they have the capability of cutting aluminum at all? I have noticed many people say things along the lines of 'you need a frame made of...' and i've heard materials from wood all the way up to steel. While my main machine frame is steel, the gantry is constructed of aluminum. After some research and experimentation, I've found that the width of cut, depth of cut and feed rate can be adjusted to better suit whatever machine it is you have. You may find that it may take you 437 times longer to complete a cut in aluminum, but for a numerically controlled machine and loose tolerances- this may be an acceptable route in an effort to build an upgrade machine. I'm no expert, but I am a dedicated hobbyist. If you have any questions or care to collaborate, just let me know!

Danilo! Unfortunately the title of this post says it all. While I drew up a few dozen sketches of ideas on how I wanted things done, the plan continued to change. Throughout the change, I continued to build from the hip and a notepad, and adjusted the plan to coincide with what was already built and to accommodate any adjustments that were made. With that being said, there were no drawings of this machine in Fusion360 or any other CAD program. Sometimes, the best tool in the toolbox is a pad of paper and pencil. However, if you have any questions i'm certainly not above answering questions I do have the answer to. Let me know what you come up with!
