Just to keep everyone informed, shipping has started on the mechanical kits as the manuals are complete. The first is batch of full kits are nearly done, and just got to finish the manual. I expect them to be shipped next week.

    Ryan,

The Electronics Manual for the kits is done? OUTSTANDING! However, I don't see it on the website under "Downloads and Documentation" for the kits.

Only the mechanical manuals are done at the moment. I should have a first version of the electronics manual up this week, then we will ship the first batch of full kits

Ryan, well done brother! This is such a nice machine and does a great job at showing the modular capabilities of what the V-Slot system is all about! Thank you for sharing

My kit that was shipped to the US last Wednesday was held in Memphis, TN, on a bureaucratic hold of one type or another for five days. I received notice this morning that it had been released and will be delivered tomorrow. I'd like to publicly thank Ryan and all the crew at Ooznest for their efforts to get this done as quickly as possible. THANK YOU!

Having said that, and in full acknowledgment that this is not the forum for the question and that a firestorm of flames will shortly descend upon me, I need some help. Is anyone running Machinekit on Debian Stretch to control their router? I keep running into an error trying to install the 'dirmngr' package, thereby halting the process. I've been using the instructions posted here: Configuring APT for Machinekit. The problem is that my install of Deb9 did not inclued 'dirmngr.' It seems as if dirmngr may have been deprecated, but I have no information on what to substitute or how to do it. I have searched the Machinekit website and blog, but with no success. I'm about ready to scream.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know of any steps, resources or sites that might be able to help me move onward?

Thank you for your time and forbearance.

    Leonard

Glad to hear everyone is starting to receive the kits. The full kit manual is 90% complete, i have just got to finish the wire routing sections, but it should be pretty much self explanatory stuff.

@Leonard M Really sorry i can't help you on your issue.

Does anyone else has the DeWALT 26200? I have a large collection of 8mm bits and I can't get them in at all.
The collet itself is 6.35mm (1/4").
The box / manual talks about "1/4" (8mm)", so I assumed my bits would fit..

    1/4" = 6.35mm, not 8mm.

The only "8" I am familiar with in regards to the collet is that the specs say 1/4 inch 8 slot collet. But that is just the literature I have.

I realize that.. However on the box / in the manual / online they are stating that it is a '1/4" (8mm)' collet. So I assumed the collet fitted either both or there were two collets included in the box. I've ordered a new 8mm collet from my local tool supplier.

Anyone already working with ACME nut blocks? I've got a screw X-axis and one of the blocks fits very loose (I can move the screw about 0,5mm along its length). The other block is very tight and takes some effort to move the screw through. How should the nut blocks feel?

If they are loose it isn't too much of an issue, because each axis has two with adjustment, so you can pinch them together to remove any play. However if one is very tight this can be an issue, can you check there is no swarf in the block?

    Best Regards

I didn't realize the looseness isn't an issue because of the two blocks. The removing of the backlash in 2.3.3B (screw) now makes more sense.

Knowing this I've successfully removed a lot of the tension in the tight one by running the lead screw through it and applying some pressure along the screw length. Blowing of some debris with compressed air in the meantime.

Does anyone have an STL file for a 3D printed spindle mount. I have purchased a spindle with a 65mm diameter but all the 3D printed mounts I can find are for the 20x60 extrusion and I believe this machine has 20x80

Anyone already installed the limit switches from the full kit?
In section 4.1.1A the M3-Socket-Head-8mm should thread themselves in the Limit-Switch. However it would not thread (some force shattered my limit switch). I measured an other limit switch, and the holes were 2,0 / 2,3 mm diameter.. I drilled them to 2,5mm but still the holes won't thread.

    Hi,

@michielproce They should thread, i will test them today. Do you want a replacement sent out?

@Aaron D In the download links there is a model of the whole machine, that includes the 71mm mount.

That would be great, thanks. Couldn't I just drill out the holes for the X and Y limit switches like the Z switch and use a longer M3 bolt + nyloc nut?

The rest of the kit went very smooth. I've had so much fun putting it together.
I've attached a photo of my (1500x1000 belt/screw) build. Cables still need tidying up and the X/Y limit switches still need to be installed.

@michielproce Yes you can do that. I will get one shipped out tomorrow.

The next batch of kits are aiming to be shipped Wednesday. This will pretty much include everyone who ordered during October. My apologies for the delay, we made a mistake on this batch which wasn't made on the first batch somehow, so we had to re-open every kit :banghead:

I decided to go ahead and try and design one for a 65mm spindle. I have uploaded it to Thingiverse in case anyone else needed one.

    @Cncpro

I will post an update today. We changed the screws holding the limits switches to make them thread easier. If anyone is having any issues, we can send them out.
