What is the difference between slicer and common 3d design software?

    What is the difference between slicer and common 3d design software? Could someone explain me with easy understandable words? Because i can't found the real difference of them thanks in advance :D

    3d design = design/draw/create
    slic3r = slice the thing you made in 3d design software, into Gcode that the printer can interpret. Ie you need both

    thanks for your info! i thought they are different kind of software,so i assume slicer is a feature in the 3d design software am i right?

    usually not... Checkout Slic3r.org, simplify3D, Cura, etc as Slicers
