I would use it for my new business called CNCcrates. I built a CNC using the v slot linear rail, and to control it I'm using a CNC shield for an arduino, and i need a reliable controller so this would be great.

I'd like to use it on a hot glue extruding boat (kayak) building CNC machine.

I just received my first order of OpenBuilds parts the other day for an Ox build that I'm wanting to make. This Smoothieboard would be a great addition.

I would use the Smoothieboard to update an existing CNC Mini mill with old and outdated electronics.

I've been thinking about building a Delta Six type printer, winning this would make me start the project.

So I built an OX about 9 months ago. Mechanically it was straightforward and fun to assemble!
    Electronically, not so much.
I started with Chinese parallel break out boards and Mach3. Spent months of hair pulling with no success. Then migrated to USB cnc controllers, Chinese again, and still couldn't get everything to play nicely. So disheartening I pretty much gave up.
Next I tried a cnc shield on an arduino and now have a basic working machine. But it's so limiting and featureless. I would love to finally have a desktop dream cnc built with a Smoothieboard!

I've got a box of bearings and a bag of Mostly Printed CNC parts awaiting "spare time." A SmoothieBoard would give this project a kick into high gear!

I'm in the process of building a C/D Bot using V-Slot. It's a massive printer (print area will be 24x12 inches by ~16 in high.) I am currently planning on using a cheap Ramps 1.4 w/ Arduino Mega I had been using on a smaller printer. The build is going really well and I'm just about ready to start the wiring! The Smoothie board would make wiring and programming this beauty so much easier!

Here's some pictures of what I am building and the electronics that would be running it!

I want to make a TrueUp Glide but using Openbuilds entirely to make it since i don't have 3d printed services where i live to make the connecting parts.

plus, combining the hardware precision of the true up model with the 32 bit brain power of the smoothieboard, will allow me to make the best 3d printer i can get.

I'd love to put a Smoothie Board into the new Hybrid OX I have under construction. It is a 1mtr x 1.5mtr frame with a 2.2kw spindle OX with a twist. I used C Beam with 1/2" 5 start ACME screws coupled to NEMA34s on the y axis. The x axis currently consists 2 20/80 but I'm thinking about switching these out for a C Beam and ball-screw. Ueing NEMA 23s for both Z and X axis.

I'm working on the control box right now and was thinking about a smoothie board. Perfect timing guys!

The build log will be posted as soon as it's finished - help me out with a Smoothie Board!

I'm torn between using it for a 3D printer and a CNC. Probably both, one with the prize and the other board I could buy. :)

    A Trium3D delta printer.

It uses a RAMPS board which gives marginal performance in a printer like this. Other uses report that the smootheboard lifts the performance of this printer to new heights. I would love to add a section on adding a smootheboard to my build documentation :))

I've got my extrusions and I'm waiting on my build plate and HIWIN rails, but if I win the smoothie I'll use to to control a tripteron printer -- Tripteron - RepRapWiki -- I've been wanting to build one since I first saw one and I'm finally getting underway!

I would use it as an excuse to spend more money in the openbuilds part store. Why not build a 3rd machine? LOL. These openbuilds guys are the best.

Hmmm, options, options. Either I woud use it to control a monumentally overcomplicated door system to my mancave that would have no real functionality other than opening in a monumentally cool and utterly evilly nerdy way, or I would get rather boring and use it in a core xy 3D printer. Probably the latter, since I don't actually have a mancave, and I would have to build that first which isn't entirely practical right now.

I would build a full openbuild delta printer with it, 1/2 meter diameter heatbed and one meter height for print volume!
