    Hi Folks

I am considering becoming a distributor of Openbuilds parts in Canada and opening up an online store that's based in the Toronto Area.

I would like to know if this would be a valuable resource for people in Canada. We have a strong maker community and I know that dealing with purchases from the United States with Customs Duty can be a real pain and having a more local source for this great hardware could be very convenient. I would appreciate your thoughts.

    Thanks
    Adam

haven't been able to find a list of distributors.. in the FAQ it just takes you to a contact form to become one.

I am finding it extremely difficult to source parts here in Canada to build an OX like CNC.

I agree completely. that is why we are slowly building our inventory so Canadians have a place to shop and not worry about shipping over the border and duty.
    Shameless Plug. :D checkout www.makerparts.ca

I've used makerparts.ca and fuzztech with some success. If you are in a hurry, order direct as those two ship only on weekends. Use USPS as the shipping service to avoid customs brokerage fees, Canada Post will collect the GST/HST taxes on orders over $100.

If you're looking for printer parts, spool3d.ca out of Calgary has been really good for me too.

There should not be any duty when purchasing from the USA. Only the hst.
When importing look if nafta tariff 8465.90.00.15 for duty exemption.
