    thanks everybody for the answers
i will probably settle for the 660, as i want to keep this simple and light, but im interested in the c-beam mod.

once i get familiar with building these machines ill go for something larger, stronger, and capable of cutting alu, and then maybe conver my vertical mill to CNC, but thats for another day/month/year :D

I've listed the 20x20 1mm shorter, the gantry 20x60 is 443mm, my bad. The 20x20 can be 443mm as well.

The DW660 and DW611 use different clamps. the link I gave you can be mounted directly to the 20x40 V-Slot but the DW611 base from OpenBuilds needs extra hardware to fit the router. You could start with the metal straps and cast corner brackets first, and later on you can make your own base, this is what I recommend.

We at OpenBuilds Mexico use a miter saw with a non-ferrous blade, and due to lack of better we use WD40 to lubricate when cutting.

The Weight of the DW660 is 3.2lbs/ 1.45kg, I believe this includes the cable and standoff (this you will not use).

I'm working on a test build, take a look at this: OpenBuilds Promoveo Study Builds

It will have the base for the DW660 with some parts removed, the base looks like this but it will need a small mod to fit the 20x40 Z axis:

If only I had more time...

    Hello All,

I was looking for the build manual for the Routy, but it's not under the Files and Drawing tab.

Have I overlooked something or has it been removed?

Or would anyone recommend a similar build?

    Regards,
    Todd

    Hello Todd,

Sorry to say that the files were removed as to new forum rules (no self promotion); this was an OpenBuilds Mexico SA de CV project and not from OpenBuildspartstore.com. Please, take a look at this topic/project: ROUTY CNC Router (V-Slot Belt & Pinion) .
