are you talking about a real Prusa or Prusa style printer?
I have the real one but also have a diy version also.

The real one in the build it yourself version can be a little fiddly but it you have some mechanical ability it's not too bad.
I can't really comment on the prusa style because there's so many, but in general they aren't too bad to put together.

The PEI film can be a little tricky to get prints to stick, but once you figure it out, it works great.

    hope that helps a little.

I just picked up a Prusa I3 from some kid who had it all twisted up and have yet to print. It is my first printer but got it real cheap and lots of extra parts. I have just two wires I do not know where they go. Plus I am missing the Smart Adapter for the screen. the only part not sold separately. I guess I can run it without the LCD anyway but I will get one they are only 16 bucks. The kid had no idea like me but I have been in the trades for thirty years and know you just have to take your time with this stuff. I have everything rewired like the pics and things I found plus put on a better gage power cord to the power supply which he thought was shorted out. SO I measured everything and like i said I have two wires to figure out and tighten the bed belt a little bit maybe but I'll see how that goes when I get to my first print.

What is wrong with this style printer. The printer, without even having print anything, is weak and loose in it's natural state. I have seen this model in Acrylic and would think that even worse. The first thing I am going to do , once I get it working, is to make a box around it and mount the frame to it which will stiffen everything up. I can see the failure already and have yet to print. It is wiggly and with that movement I would think it will run off mark. I will attach every point I can plus put a few braces in. Once that is done I would believe this will print with the best of them. It could have the motors on top for the Z axis instead of the bottom which would allow you to wrangle the wires better but that is a personal view and nothing to do with ability. I have the dual extruder model and see this as the only downfall for getting this machine up and running. I should say downfall for me because I have never print yet and have an extra thing to deal with now.

I have read a lot and this printer gets great reviews even for the knock offs. Just a great design for the price point. Obviously there are much better printers out there but this one is the best at this price in a lot of peoples opinions. Check out this guys channel I have learned a lot there. I greatly appreciate your feed back. I ordered one with the aluminum frame, and it looked like it would be stronger with it made into a box so I agree with you. I will order some extra frame rails. I will check out the guy that you suggested.

I will keep in touch and good luck with yours,
