That's cool, can't wait to see what pump they are using and build one for Openbuilds :).

I can't remember which video showed the pump but it looks like a pressure washer pump.

Well, I just looked at a pressure washer pump suggested by @snokid and it can do up to 3000PSI for 200USD, with a 0.2mm nozzle and a relative small mix tube it can do about 1/3kW of cutting power (so they say).

I've been looking at the relative cheap heads, abrasives and circulation system and always found it interesting but the price of the pumps were enormous.

EDIT: Forgot to say that 200USD is without the motor ;)

Do you have the link for the pump (motorless)?

I mixed up PSI and BAR, my bad, so the pump can provide about 1/3kW and not 5kW. It was just a quick search on e-Bay. There are cheaper pumps that might be put parallel to get a higher water flow/pressure. It seems a NEMA56c motor is mostly used but I'm not sure.

    FYI,

You may glean some info about the Wazer team's design approach from the developers college senior project video from a few years ago. They were using an air powered intensifier to generate ~6500psi. Here is a link:

    Cheers!
