Some of you may know the struggles I have been thru the past few months...I have an Ox type router with TinyG as the controller...any file with much more than some simple text, will randomly screw up the work piece thru an uncommanded move...I have documented, for example, a straight Y move after an arc will randomly result in an XY angled move (even though the code is for an Y only)! On this file, it is usually after a thirty minute cut, on the cutout part! Very frustrating! I found that I can run this file with a clockwise cut and the problem goes away (same arc on the other side!)! I have other examples where the cutter will decide after three or four depth increments to shortcut and cut across the work! Anyway, I was experimenting yesterday and decided to convert the file to MM. The file in question cut from start to finish?!? What? Anyway, long story short I converted some of the other files that I could never finish without a screw up to MM and so far they have all cut like they should...My advice is, if you are using inches and having random issues, give MM a try...
Going to run more of my "trouble" files today...

I have the same controller TinyG V8 an haven't ran into that, I have rebuilt my machine using the tinyG and done several acrylic signs with lots of lettering. do you have the latest version of the firmware loaded?

next I would hit the support forum and upload your example Forum: TinyG Support | Synthetos.com

Interesting that you have no struggles...yes I have the latest firmware and I posted the same pics and issues on the TinyG forum...As long as I do not home the machine (wacks up the touch plate) and work in mm, I feel comfortable enough to walk away from the machine, it always cuts properly in mm...

all my new plates for the rebuild were in MM, but I have done several acrylic signs and bases , a pelican case panel and by buddy Kevin did a console for his truck in 3/4 oak plywood and they were in inch. my biggest
problem is forgetting that it is in inch then telling it to move a big number....then it OOPS...hit the reset before it hits a stop.

    hi
can you post here, (or privately to me) your 2 files, one inch and one mm, for the same cut?
I am keen to have a look. (yes, I have an idea what the problem might be...)
