I was working with someone on openbuilds to help me build a MendelMax. I have all the parts but the frame ( A frame style) rods and bearings. As of last month he disappeared from the website, which is odd for he was on here almost daily.

But what ever happened to him, I have most of a 3d-printer with no way of putting it together. I do not have the tools for cutting extrusion or the rods. I have no idea of where to go from here for the plastic frame parts were printed by my friend. He was almost ready to ship the parts when he disappeared.

Is this based on DiggerJ's Mendel build? If so, I think he is still around!! I was just helping him design some 3d printer parts not to long ago. Try sending him a Pm or Email. He should get right back to you..

DiggerJ has been off line for a month. I need design ideas to go forward with a 3d printer. I have about have the parts for a printer. I have most if not all the electronics including a 300 x 300 hot mat and glass. Power supplies , hardware of screws and hotend . I just don't know where to go from here. DiggerJ has the bearings, rods, printed frame parts and metal railing for the frame. Ideas would be appreciated.

sorry guys, but you can't get rid of me that easy! ;^D
I have been offline virtually all of the last half of 2015. Short answer to all of this, is life was trying to kill me, but it hasn't got the job done yet! I got sick, kept taking my meds for heart and Type 2 diabetes, and ended up taking several expensive ambulance rides and hospital stays, and too sick to see straight.

Got picked up off the floor more times than I care to discuss while at work. Was told repeatedly that "You must be getting over a bug", not being able to eat or drink, etc, etc. Found all of the rest rooms where A guy can lose anything he could get into himself while at work. Found out where most of my true friends are. (Thank your for the kind words from some of you.)

Long winded story a little bit shorter... While sick and not able to keep anything in me, I continued taking my meds and ended up with what they described as "Stage 3 kidney failure". So they took me off of most all meds, kept flushing me out and giving me fluids back in for days, and got me close to cleaned out.

Lost over 60lbs, and gained new appreciation for the really important things in life.

If anyone needs me, I will try to respond and to feenix3k, I left you a private pm. I have stuff to send to you. To all of the other guys who had me do work for them before my health fiasco, thank you again. The only parts not shipped for anyone is for feenix3k. I will try to figure out something for him, to say thank you.

I really missed the Open Builds guys on this forum. You guys have been pretty great to me in the past. There are a couple of new build ideas coming from our local group, as soon as I ship some stuff for feenix3k. I larger printer that got going after I saw the IndieLc, using CBeam. It will be called Cbeam3PO for A CBeam based 300x300 Printing Object. We are also building a beefed up version of the TAZ 5 (with all OB V-slot extrusion instead of chrome hardened shafts. The guys in our Makerspace are having fun with new printer ideas. Big props to "Pierce" for making the V-slot conversion possible.

Enough rambling, start yelling at me if you so desire. Hopefully I can be back for some time. And hopefully someone from OpenBuilds will reply to any of my emails I have sent...soon1

It is way late, and I am sorry, but here is most of what will be going to feenix3k. The print bed support and corners wouldn't fit in the pic but they are going with these parts.

If you are trying to figure it out, yes there are different "extra" carriages and other parts. I had already printed a standard X-carriage and we got to talking about capacitance sensors for auto-leveling, so I includes one of those.

Now to get it boxed up and off to "Bee" finished. Thanks for your warm thoughts while I was an a bad way. I am on the mend, and really happy to be back on the printers.

    Hey Digger.
I'm sorry to hear about your health problems mate. Still it sometimes needs something serious to occur to get things sorted out. It sounds like your on a Positive path now!:thumbsup:
I've had a similar situation. Trouble with kidney stones, for the fourth time, must drink more water, only to find with my blood tests that I have the "Big C", only it's a small "c" at the moment, because they found it accidentally. So hopefully I can get it sorted before it gets to the "Big C".
It's definitely an age thing!! :D
    All the Best mate.
