I am about to embark on a CO2 laser build and will use ebay for the cheaper Chinese products. Has anyone got any experience with any Chinese mnfg. that they found to be reputable and have a modicum of quality? I will be purchasing laser tube, lenses and misc. parts.

That's exciting, I have no knowledge to share but I would love if you keep us (me?) posted.

I've ordered a number of parts from China for my router build. All of the sellers I've dealt with were entirely professional. In fact, they had an "on their knees for me" attitude at all times. The biggest roadblock I've faced with things I've ordered from China is not quality or service, it's timing. I'm talking weeks in many cases. If you're in a jam and you need a replacement thingamajig that only ships by boat from the east then you should order a second to have on hand in the case the first breaks. I've resorted to finding Chinese products sold for a small amount more from USA sellers in order to reduce shipping times and keep cost low. A lot of those are from CA.
Quality wise, no problems, and if there were, then I'm confident the seller would do as much as possible to make it right. All though the time it takes to correct is killer in some cases. For instance, I got a great deal on a package of 3 rolled Chinese ball screws including mounts for all three. I messaged the seller as to what I was looking for, they sent me a link message within 24hrs, ordered. Took three weeks to get here! Not a big deal if you're ordering ahead like I did. When the package arrived I was eager to check it all out. Everything checked out and met my expectations. One problem though...One of the fixed mount nuts were missing and the package for one of them was open unlike the other two. I triple checked the package and nothing. I sent the seller a message and they responded with a very sincere apology and explained that when they were machining the threaded ends they used one of the nuts to check the fit of all of the threads. The nut just didn't make it back in the package. They sent One out immeadiatly, but it took another two weeks to arrive. Moral of the story I guess, if you order from China then keep an eye on shipping, read all seller reviews, expect delays, expect the seller to be willing to accomodate you with any problems, and most of all....plan on waiting a long time if you want it cheap.

    That's my take.

Thanks Joe, I'll keep that in mind.
