Hi everyone, I designed this after being unhappy with all the existing Proxxon M70 conversions and wanting to get into CNC on a budget. For anyone else interested I've posted all of my 3D print files and assembly instructions here:

    GitHub - dheera/big-yellow-proxxon-mf70-conversion

The main thing this offers over existing MF70 conversions:
    - Built with 3D printed parts and off-the-shelf metal components available on McMaster and AliExpress. You don't need a CNC machine to build this CNC machine
    - Extends Y axis from 46mm to 90mm
    - Extends Z axis 15mm higher so that there is space for a 4th axis

Why MF70? Total cost of this mill including conversion is <$500-$600 (not including controller)

I'm using an OpenBuilds BlackBox x32 to run the system. I realize this isn't the cheapest controller compared to the mill but I'm new to CNC and didn't want to waste time on electronics and firmware, and I might reuse the electronics to control something larger in the future. The OpenBuilds stuff was super easy to wire up and set up!

Thanks! I think the face-up orientation might be not ideal for my use case, but seeing this I might think of making a 3D print backet to mount the interface on top of the BlackBox at 90 degrees ^_^
