The type you make that has the belt adjusters that bolt on. I have the rest of the set on, but need those.

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to the group. I have been looking into a build for a few months and have finally decided on the Delta 6 I like the clean look. When I first seen the delta my mind went back to the old fanuc S200 pogo robots a delta upside down. Anyway hello from Grand Rapids Mi!
I will be sure to give credit where it is due, I have been looking around at many builds and will be making a HB. Great work guys, also this is my first build so if you see something that is just DUMB let me know I won't be offended by people looking out for me.

I like ABS and 50% infill. Very strong, but not so hard as to be brittle.

I have printed them in PLA with 40% infill and mine I'm using are also PLA
It took some time but I have it to the point that lifting is not an issue anymore :)

I can wholeheartedly recommend PEI on the bed surface. Help immensely on heated beds, for PLA or ABS. No glue, hairspray, ABS juice or anything needed. Just an occasional wipe with alcohol and keep your fingers off of it.

I have borrowed a leapfrog dual head from a sister plant the engineer that bought it quit a about a year ago. The plant manager said it never worked right. I spent the weekend cleaning abs out of it. Learning how and calabarating. Seem to print great but VERY slow I know there not fast but 30 ipm for high Q setting and a max of 60.
Is that all the faster any of them run? At any rate I am learning I will post the parts. Thanks for the info.

First I have heard of using Polyetherimide... On top of the glass platform or in replacement of? How thick? ABS juice works for me but is messy.

Sparky19629-- I also did my first set in ABS with 50% infill.

.03 and on top of the glass. McMaster has it the guy on Amazon is always out. I am trying a sheet of .09 to see how well the heat transfers. the idea being that if it works, I will buy an extra so i can just take a sheet with completed print off and replace with second one to keep printing while the first sheet cools and the parts pop off.

I ran into a problem. My rail is 1 x 2 not 20 x40 does someone have the delta six parts in solidworks/ stp file so I can make adjustments or if some one can resize the existing delta sets by 1.27 they should work. I have ran solidworks and autocad along time. They use models scad use tringles insted of solid surfaces. Help would be great. I don't want to draw from the start. But may start soon.

    Thanks guys

Goofy question but once I get my machine built can anyone point me in the right direction to a guide or video on setting the thing up. I will just be using a ramps 1.4 board. I have been looking around online and not real sure where to start. I figure I just have to give the firmware some initial values but wanted to be sure I am doing it right so I dont break anything first thing lol.. Thanks again.

/edit maybe im just searching the wrong terms. trying like delta ramps config or kossel initial configuration

    so I re-found this video -
I think it should give me a good start.. any recommendations on running repetier vs marlin? I noticed marlin has a pretty slick web-based configuration tool. My plan as of now was running marlin fw as well as an ubuntu box with octoprint..

Does anyone have the .scad or .stl file for the magnetic effector?
I've got the one for magnetic carriage but no effector.
Just about to print my parts for the build and this is only part I'm missing.

    Thanks

Which carriage are you using? You will need an effector with the same connector width for best accuracy

Can you gurus tell me what I am missing? Controller, ramps, mega, display this price seams to good I know that I will need my motors switch ect but for the main controls this looks very cheap and no shipping charge.
Any thoughts? I would like to order today as it will be several weeks shipping.

I was paying about $40 per set from the Asian supermarket :D, and the stuff I got was ok. That price you show is crazy. Let us know how it turns out.
If it was me, and I was willing to shop over there (and I do), I would look at one of the Smoothis/Azteeg knockoffs with the 32bit processor for a delta printer. More potential for quality prints. I have seen them for around $60.

I wondered the same thing. I sent him a PM a few weeks ago, and nothing. I have seen he is on to other projects from some of his posts on the various boards.

OK, I found the catch. If you notice, there is a "Type" button and dropbox by the description and price. The description above lists all of the stuff, but the price is for the Ramps bd only. If you select the item in the dropbox that has everything in the picture you will pay a Hiney-puckering $79.95 for what you see on the screen. Banggood sels a pretty nice kit for $40 and only a few bucks more for the Full graphics screen (which you will want if converting to Smoothis/Azteeg later.

DiggerJ - I onl recently found that out about connector width which shot my plans to use the effector file I had.
I was planning on using the carriage designed by CommanderK (carriagev6.stl) as attached. I can't find the effector file to suit.
Alternatively I could use the one you came up with (d6magcar.stl) but I still don't have an effector file to suit.
Eventually I will be fitting a Polystrudder Tri Hotend but I want to be able to experiment with designs once my delta is up and running. http://www.polystroooder.com/Tri-Hotend_p_9.html

ommanderk's effector is ther right size to match his carriage, and is really open to mods, but the pockets for the nuts don't print right for me. Other than that, I really like it. He sent me the scad file and I printed it last night.

I am not sure why he went with the full sized OB wheels for his carriage model, but it is a pretty nice carriage, I am going to try a set on a 300x600 D6 and Hadyn's stock sized mag rods and ends. I think they will work well together.

I like that his effector has a large enough hole to allow the hotend to be raised and mounted so the heaqt block and nozzle are the only ting below the bottom of the effector. I am going to see if I can come up with a mount to make this happen. More Z height and should improve accuracy.

If he says it is ok to post the scad and stl, I will, but I think it is only proper to get his permission.
