I am trying to cut out some shaker doors out of MDF an the last 2 sheets were ruined cause the rotor started acting like it had a mind of its own. Has anyone ever ran across this? I am using Mosaic Software.

I’m not sure how to read gcode but the plunging happens in different places. I ran the same program twice. Not sure about EMI. I have the spindle, frame and the dust collection system grounded to earth. Could it b the controller box?

    Unlikely.

EMI has some tell tale symptoms (as per the link above) so lets check mechanicals.

Grubscrews on all shaft couplers tight?
Standard RoutER11 or heavy aftermarket spindle? If so, did you dial down max rates and acceleration in Grbl Settings (Might be worth a test even with standard spindle)
Do you have $1=255 in Grbl Settings (Keeps axes locked when not moving) ?
Detailed description of where the eratic moves happen. You make mention of Plunging: Is it only Z? If its always Z, its probably not EMI (serial corruption would affect all axes).
Could also be wiring, docs:blackbox-x32:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation] - so check all terminals and do some tests by random jogging

I found the issue. The stepper motor has failed.

Motors rarely fail. Unless dropped and snapping off a mounting ear or bending a shaft in the process. So more likely wiring
