    Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I wanted to change from using the solid V wheels to say the extreme v wheels and linear rail are there gantry plates available or would I have to modify my existing gantry plates? Thanks.

They are the same dimension. You would just have to pop off the old wheel, take out the bearings and shim, install them on the new wheel and then install.

Well doesn't the linear rail change things? In other words If I install the linear rail the over all width changes.... right?

Yes, I don't think Nick caught the linear rail part. Yes the wheel centers are approximately 4mm farther apart using the openrail linear rail with the original V-wheels. Whether or not you can re-drill your existing plate will depend on the amount of edge distance you have.

Thanks for the replys. Nick maybe I did not splain things correctly. Thanks for trying. So rick you say approximately 4 mm is there any way to get a exact figure? I don't mean to be a pain, but I don't want to cut a new set and they not work. Thanks again for the help.

    Regards
    Charlie

Unfortunately there are no dimensions shown on the Openrail gantry plates but you can pull dimensions from plates shown in the Sketchup files. I'm getting 24.6mm + extrusion depth (20/40/60/80) for the hole spacing but I will leave it to you to verify.
