Make sure to click the X32 tab. Even if it's already selected. That seems to be trying to flash a 4X. Might have a bug with the default selection, so lets test if clicking the tab to assert the controller type helps.

Morning Peter. This seems to be an issue that just keeps giving. This morning, when I went to try the firmware update again, I cannot connect to the X32. I have read 6.3 and wiring is unchanged, COM port is good, drivers are good (2.12.36.4 07/05/21). The only change made is to remove a USB extension cable in order to minimise the potential for another comms interruption. Log screen dump follows. Thanks, Fred. That's the half-written firmware from the day before, unable to boot of course (it didn't finish writing remember). Usb Extensions are a bad idea, and should be the cause of the comms drop during flashing the day before. Complete a successful firmware flash first.
