Today i received my materials for building my 3D printer.
It was very well packed! - thumbs up!- (unfortunately had to pay $39 customs duty on top the $50 shipping)

When trying the delrin nut block on the lead screw, it does fit, but it's very tight!
By hand i can only twist the block on the screw until the screw is starting to come out on the other side.
Then my hand starts losing grip on the screw and i can't get it any further.

Do i have to wear the blocks in in some kind of way (run the blocks up and down using a drill), should i lubricate them right from the start? (and if so, with what?)
    Please help me out?

    Hi Winand,

They have been made tight and will loosen-up (bed-in) with use.
Running them back and forward with a drill a few times (no lubrication necessary) will do the trick. ;)

D*mn, spent over 10 minutes turning the blocks back and forth over the 1 meter lead screw..
They seem to loosen up just a tiny little bit, but i still can't turn them by hand?
I don't want that all my stepper motors force goes into moving the block over the screw :)

For my CNC router i used a polish stainless M10 screw with a delrin block made for it.
That one was gliding like butter..

    Any other tips?

Can you provide a photo or internet link showing the style of the nut?

Let me guess... UPS? Just for fun, from where to where was the shipping?

@Rick2.0: The nut is the Openbuilds nut, the lead screw the Openbuilds lead screw.
The nuts were ordered however at iprototype.nl a distributor of openbuilds material since the nuts were out of stock on the openbuildpartstore.

I now have experimented with some lubrication, i used graphite lock lubricant spray.
It's much better now! strange though that lubrication seems necessary.

@dddman; Shipping was UPS from the USA to The Netherlands..

Interesting. I tend to prefer the V-Slot Acme Nut Plate as all the nut blocks I have received are so loose that if I hold them vertically, a 1m stick of TR8*8 will actually spin itself through under its own weight. It appears there are some serious quality control issued in the manufacture.

I'n assembling a 1515 and the lead screws seem quite tight and a little difficult to turn by hand. Do the nut blocks loosen up a bit with use? Thanks

Yes they do loosen up. Hold the leadscrew in a portable dril, lubricate the leadscrew with DRY ptfe or silicone spray and run the leadscrew back and forth until it runs more freely.
