So over the past 2 years I have used my WorkBee cnc without fail... I had purchased the the LED Ring that goes under the mount to luminate the table. Worked great until I put a dust shoe on it and then all I did was luminate the top of my dust shoe... On one occasion I had my ear protection on, my earbuds in and my music on. When the machine finished the job I homed it so I could change out the bit. Once it homed I started to reach under the router to grab the brush to pull it off the Dust Shoe. Scared myself to death. I could have really hurt myself that day... Anyway I never listened to music after that. I always thought it would be so cool to set up a red light that was on when the router was on.

Fast forward to today. I'm building a new machine and purchased the OpenBuilds XYZ Probe. I like how you get the green light letting you know you have a good contact.

That got me to thinking. How cool would it would be if there was a light on the spindle that was red when the spindle is running and green once it has wound down and safe to put your hands on it.

The OpenBuilds LED Ring would be perfect for that. You already have the basic design you just need it to light red or green and big enough to fit a 2.2kW Spindle, a 1.5kW Spindle and smaller trim router. Mine is 80mm.

I think a kit that had a mount and ring would be awesome!!!

    Let me know your thoughts.

You could plug the router into an IOT Switching Relay Power Strip that is turned on and off by the controller. That way it is only powered when cutting. You could even plug a red light into the power strip that comes on when the spindle turns on and off when the job is done.

I did buy the black box so I have that coolant output to wire it up. I think I could make this happen.
