Too fast? (Fusion 360 Feedrate)

    Ok….so my 1515 is up and running. All I ever owned before was an x carve for a few days. I haven’t been around these machines with anyone else so I have nothing to compare to other than my x carve experience. Is it possible the open builds controller could mot be following fusion360 gcode? I dropped the speeds down to 40 ipm and this things just hauling ***. I’m going to go out to the shop tomorrow and time/measure the situation. Has anyone ever observed anything like this? Video and files to follow tomorrow. Thanks

    No its not possible. Although do note Rapids are not set by Fusion, that's set by Max Rate in Grbl Settings. Are you sure you loaded the LEAD1515 Machine Profile in Grbl Settings?

    I’m positive that I loaded the proper machine. I’m getting a feeling that the stock speeds for the whiteside bits I’m using are really fast. I’ll throw up a screenshot in a few minutes. I’m going to go over my whole workflow to create a basic 12”x12” square. I’ll post any pertinent screenshots and files associated. Thanks for the quick response.

    I know that once this thing hit the open builds machine it was screaming. im also going to attach the code here as well.

    its in this response somewhere. maybe the whole thing is that im not used to something this fast. I just want to make sure everything is cool before I push this thing like a beast of burden when there's something I just needed to fix. thanks bunch.

    Wow! 160 inches per minute is a fast cutting feed rate. That is 4064mm/minute for us metric users. But I guess that just depends on how deep you are cutting and the spindle RPMs. For wood when I am cutting full endmill widths like profile cuts, I am only doing about 100 ipm (2500mm/min). If I am 3D carving where I am removing less than half the endmill diameter I will get up to 3000 mm/min (sometimes 3500mm/min - but rarely).

    I was under the impression that cutting at 1/2 the bit width was the middle of the road kinda jam. Those numbers are the ones fusion is throwing at me when I use the cloud loaded whiteside library. Strange stuff to me. Thanks for the input.

    160 ipm is fast, but if the machine can do it then is there a problem? (-:
